Classic Shapes and Silhouettes

Health and Safety

  • Clean washed hands must always be the first thing before touching client
  • Hair is tied back at all times
  • Model should be wearing a apron or protected clothing
  • Must check whether there is any contraindications such as sickness or infection
Two hair styles that were created, basic looks that are important to learn for future use. The hair styles are a sleek pony tail and a french pleat.

Sleek Pony Tail

Equipment needed for look

  • Hair gel
  • Pintail Comb
  • Hair  bands
  • Hair grip
The first thing to do create a V section at the top of the hair from the crown that needs to be separated from the bottom of the hair.

Brush the bottom of the hair into a sleek ponytail using a little hair gel to help flatter the hair hair down to the head for more of a sleek look

Once the hair is tied and sleek at the bottom start the rest of the hair that was sectioned of into a V. Like with the hair before sleek the hair back and make sure the front section of the hair is tightly back with gel. Tie the hair on top of the previous band.

Next take out some hair from near the hair band that will be used to wrap around the band disguising it and to neaten the rest of the creation.

French Pleat

Equipment needed for look

  • Curling tongs
  • Paddle brush
  • Grips
Start of section the front of the hair and curling the sides away from the face on each side.

Brush the curls out a little and pull the hair towards the back of the head. Make sure the hair being pulled back is still neat.

With all the hair start by twisting it up and making sure that the bottom twist is thin not thick in the hair. Twist it to the head and then grip it in place making sure that its comfortable for the model and won't fall out or loose its place.
